Epson launches its vision for 2015 and beyond
11-Feb-2015
At their recent press event Epson launched their vision and technologies for 2015 and beyond. These included new printing technologies, processes, products and more.
At the event Epson Australia MD, Bruno Turcato, spoke of how the company had gone through a dramatic transformation over the last two years resulting in the launch of several groundbreaking technologies such as the new PrecisionCore print heads and record results for the company globally.
Bruce Bealby General Manager – Sales & Marketing for Epson’s Retail Division spoke about how the company had grown to over 70,000 employees and their focus on the three key areas of printing, projection and sensing.
Bealby also detailed the company's efforts in innovation particularly in the areas of manufacturing, visual communications, quality of life and printing. Examples in these areas included Next-Generation Robotics Solutions such as Epson’s autonomous dual-arm robot that actually sees, senses and thinks for itself and Epson’s innovations in finger touch projection used in schools and businesses all across Australia and New Zealand.
There were also hands-on demos of the latest Epson EH-LS10000 high end home theatre projector and the unique Moverio BT-200 smartglasses that have been adopted by educational and research facilities in the region and details of Epson sensing technology in vital signs wearables and motion and positioning products such as golf swing analysers and heart/pulse rate monitors.
Bealby handed over to Craig Heckenberg, General Manager - Sales and Marketing for Epson’s Business Division who went onto discuss how PrecisionCore technology had shifted the printing market so significantly towards inkjet solutions and away from laser. Heckenberg also previewed what he called, “The Future of Business Printing - WorkForce Pro RIPS” - which stands for Replaceable Ink Pack System. This system, due to be launched at the beginning of March, will truly revolutionise business printing with it’s efficiency and benefits to the environment.
